Kuremal Mahavir Prasad Kulfiwale | Kuremal Kulfi

we’ll talk about Kuremal Kulfi, a special ice cream from Delhi that’s over 100 years old! Let’s learn its story.
Once Upon a Time in 1906…
A long time ago, in the busy streets of Old Delhi, a man named Kuremal started selling kulfi. Kulfi is a creamy, frozen dessert like ice cream but thicker and tastier! Back then, he only made two flavors: pista (pistachio) and mango. Every day, he carried his kulfi in big pots and sold it to happy people.
Kuremal’s Son Joins the Fun!
Later, Kuremal’s son, Mahavir Prasad, helped his dad. Together, they opened a small shop in Kucha Pati Ram, Sita Ram Bazar (Chandni Chowk, Delhi). The shop’s name became “Kuremal Mahavir Prasad Kulfiwale” (that’s a big name, right?). You can still visit their shop today at Shop No. 546, near Ram Mandir Temple!
New Flavors = More Smiles!
Mahavir Prasad was very creative. He didn’t just make the old flavors—he invented NEW ones! He made:
-
Pan Kulfi (tastes like minty paan!)
-
Stuffed Mango Kulfi (with real mango pieces inside!)
-
Stuffed Anar Kulfi (filled with juicy pomegranate!)
-
Rose Kulfi (smells like a garden!).
People loved these fun flavors!
The Kulfi Family Grows Bigger!
Today, Mahavir Prasad’s sons, Manoj Sharma and Lalit Sharma, run the business. They’ve opened 5 new shops in Delhi NCR! You can find Kuremal Kulfi in:
-
Chawri Bazar
-
Pitampura
-
Preet Vihar
-
Rohini
-
Kamla Nagar
Why is Kuremal Kulfi Special?
-
They use fresh milk and fruits (no artificial stuff!).
-
They still make kulfi the old-fashioned way (like how Kuremal did in 1906!).
-
Every bite feels like a yummy piece of history!
Fun Fact: If you visit their shop in Chandni Chowk, you’ll see big matkas (clay pots) where the kulfi is set slowly. That’s the secret to its creaminess!
